Gestum flugvallarins ber að kynna sér ástand flugvallarins og aðstæður áður en lent er á flugvellinum. 
    
Flugvöllurinn á Tungubökkum er opin til flugtaks og lendingar milli klukkan 07:00 og 22:30. Lendingar eru þó leyfðarutan þess tíma. 
Allt listflug í vallarsviði er bannað nema sem hluti af auglýstri dagskrá Flugklúbbsins.

Tungubakkar Airport is open to all flights which are able to use it provided that pilots adhere to the local rules.
Pilots using the airport do so at their own risk. The aerodrome traffic circuit shall be flown at 700 ft north of the aerodrome.

Aircraft flying close to the airport, below 1500 feet, should call „Tungubakkar traffic“ on 118.200 MHZ with relevant information.
With the exception of Coast Guard helicopters, all helicopter traffic in the aerodrome traffic pattern is prohibited unless written permission from the club´s chairman is obtained in advance.

2.23.1 The aerodrome is open for use by general air traffic except that no instructional or practice flights are allowed and aircraft with engines of 200 hp or more are not allowed to use the aerodrome except in emergencies.
2.23.2 Due to the proximity of the Reykjavik Control Zone, pilots are advised that before flying into BIRK CTR a FPL shall be submitted in accordance with ENR 1.10 and ENR 1.11 and a clearance to enter BIRK CTR must be obtained from BIRK TWR.
